Fun Monday - #5 - Your Refrigerator

Amy W's Mission this week is to see the INSIDE of your refrigerator without CLEANING.IT.OUT.FIRST

So, here goes the mission:

I opened the door and here is what you see --

You would think that there is nothing out of the ordinary ... BUT wait, if you move the stuff off the top shelf on the left -

There sits corsages and boutonnieres from various weddings and proms !! (My boys graduated from high school in the early 90's). What the hell am I keeping them for - it's been at least 10 years since the last event and some of them are from before that !! But ... most of them still look pretty damn good (I brought them with me when I moved here - oh, SIX YEARS AGO !!)

And another weird thing that I have kept for no reason other than stupidity. Bottom bin on the left is full of ....

CHOCOLATE!!

Easter chocolate ... Christmas chocolate .... None of which, I am sure, is ANY GOOD !! The chips maybe, but probably not. And I know good and well that chocolate doesn't last forever! (and again, something I brought with me when I moved here SIX YEARS AGO!!)

Bottom shelf on the right side - Bottles of Corona Light - at least 2 (maybe 3) years old. I don't even like beer ... but who can throw away something when you just might have company some day who wants a cold one? Just kidding ... beer gets old too!

Go ahead ... I know what you are thinking ....

The freezer isn't as bad - I promise.

A little bit of frozen stuff ... mostly breakfast stuff. I hate to cook breakfast (mainly because I have a hard enough time just getting up in the morning). But, you MUST eat breakfast in order to lose weight and maintain that weight once you have lost it.

My freezer isn't a South Beach commercial but I am sure they would appreciate seeing it!

The instructions said not to clean it out first and now that I have shown the world how ridiculous I can be about not throwing things out, I guess it is time to do just that. MAYBE ...

SJ - quit laughing and be sure to check out my frig the next time you come to VA for a visit!!

The bottom line is: If you plan on coming to my house for a meal, CALL ME FIRST so I can go to the grocery store - OK? I really can cook, but who wants to (much) when you live alone?

Holy crap, you've got lost of stuff in there! I knew this Assignment would be a bad one for me, I've only got dog food in mine.

I think keeping the corsages is neat. The chocolate would not last a week in our house let alone six years.

Six year old chocolate? You must have some willpower!

I cannot believe how well those corsages have kept. All those chocs, beccy's right about the willpower bit!! I could do with all that for her visit with the grandchildren next week!!

That corsage business is just crazy! How did you keep from forgetting they were there and squishing them? I can't believe they've lasted that long! And who keeps chocolate long enough for it to go bad? *Does* chocolate go bad? Insanity, pure insanity! I may have had too much coffee! I'm starting to use way too many exclamation points!!! Maybe I should have some nice, soothing chamomile tea?!?

Chocolate. Did somebody say chocolate?

I think it's so neat you save your flowers. Cool, literally!

Happy Fun Monday!

I applaud your willpower! That chocolate would be gone within a week at my house!

I love that you kept the corsages. And the chocolate - you do have great will power.

I am totally amazed (like everyone else) that you can keep chocolate AND beer around that long. Did you know that they actually taste good together?

I can't believe the corsages haven't gone mouldy after all that time.

Yum, chocolate and beer. Just what I need! Yeah right.

Pass me some diet food please.....

Your fridge is as tidy as your house is. Imagine that. And really I know that if you had company, you'd have food. Really.

Ok I am thoroughly impressed. Chocolate sitting there for six years!! Wouldn't happen in my home. Very cool about the corsages, I didn't know they could last so long.

I wonder where Sj gets it from. And I dont mean the chocolate and the flowers. I mean keeping things for so long in the frig. (FISH and LIZARDS for 9 years or more)

Those corsages make me laugh. My mom kept all my corsages and any she ever got too. Well, she even kept my baby teeth, she still has them...but she doesn't keep them in her refrigerator. That would be a bit creepier than the fact that she has held on to teeth for all these years. (too much info? heh heh)
And I am so glad to see that I am not the only one holding on to holiday candy for no apparent reason!

I'M TOTALLY wacked about the flowers and the chocolates.

The candy would have been long gone at my house - and i'm sure the flowers would have never survived the first week of getting dashed about.

Our flowers always ended up getting brown and ucky. I'm amazed at how well yours have survived!

And the chocolate...it goes bad?? What a concept!

The chocolate?? And flowers??
