Through the Eyes of a Child

On Sunday afternoon, I took my granddaughter to the 61st Annual Christmas Parade in Quantico, VA . This little town in completely surrounded by the Quantico Marine Corps Base.

It's a perfect little place for a parade. Only one street long, plenty of place to park and the parade is the perfect length for a little one - about 45 minutes max!
It was rather chilly, but we enjoyed ourselves just the same.

The Marines led the parade ...

Followed by a train ...

And a marching band ...

This shot was taken special just for SJ
(does it bring back any memories for you?)

And among many other entrants, there was this special vehicle ...

After it was over, we were standing in line waiting to see Santa and it started to rain. Jillian told me we could leave now because Santa knew want she wanted because she had just seen him at Walt Disney World and he would remember her.

I asked her what she liked best. Her answer was ...

The Candy

(can you see it in the pockets of the chair)

The Reindeer

(the one in the middle with the antlers)

Santa

AND ...

Lunch with Gramma !!

Looks like a great day out! I can't wait 'til my grandson is big enough to enjoy things like that. :)

Gotta love parades! We went to one downtown on Saturday night and yes, all the marching bands marching by and tooting their horns and stuff totally brought back memories. Looks like you and Jillian had a great time!

Oh and I just wanted to give a shout out to my birth place - QUANTICO ROCKS!

I'm glad she had fun. We took our kids to a parade this past weekend too and they loved it. Our Santa also comes in on a firetruck.
