Aw Shucks !!

I had a major "senior moment" and completely forgot to sign up for Fun Monday this week.
So, I am swiping this from Wendy instead !!

Where did you grow up: all over the place (Army brat) until I was ten and have lived in Northern Virginia ever since.

3. A metal container to carry a meal in: lunch box

4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in: frying pan

5. The piece of furniture that seats three people: couch

6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof: downspout

7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening: porch

8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages: soda

9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup: pancakes

10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself: sub

11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach: swimming trunks

12. Shoes worn for sports: tennis shoes

Is this what you call these things where you hail from (or were brought up) ?

Wendy is from up north (and that is where my parents were raised) - some of our answers were actually the same ... imagine that !!

I like this I have different names for about half the things. Isn't that wierd same language but SO different. I have no idea what I would have called no 10! A very big sandwich?

:) TOO FUNNY!! I have a lot of midwestern words still in me also since that is where I spent some time growing up.

Might have to do this one!

That is almost exactly what I would have said. The only difference - I would have called it a teeter-totter. I have lived the majority of my life in the NW, but my parents were both from the Midwest.

We differ on a few - I would call them sneakers and a bathing suit.
