"When my daughter was 4, she would often help feed her baby brother. With the first spoonful, she would cheerfully say. "Bone up to eat!"
After many feedings and many discreet chuckles on my part, I finally decided to gently correct her one day and said, "Honey, it's actually "bon appetit'"
She scowled and stubbornly insisted: "No it's not! It's 'Bone up to eat!' I said: "No, really. It's 'bon appetit.' It's French."
She pauses and then declared, "Well, I'm saying it in ENGLISH!""
